HOW TO BUY BIKES

Buying bikes through FVEJ is very simple.

All you have to do is choose the bikes you are interested in, tell us your target price, and we can take care of the rest. By following these easy steps, you will soon be ready to start importing motorcycles direct from Japan.

1. BROWSE AVAILABLE BIKES:

You can browse over 10,000 bikes per week listed in the BIKE AUCTIONS section of the website. With over 10,000 motorcycles to choose from per week, whether you are looking for a stock standard Honda mini-bike, an off-road Suzuki, a high performance Kawasaki street machine, or a classic Yamaha thumper, there will be bikes available that suit all tastes, and budgets. If you see any specific target bikes, please contact us with any questions you have about importing motorcycles and motorcycle parts direct from Japan.

Fuji Vehicle Export Co. Ltd. keeps a limited number of bikes in stock for sale to our customers. These bikes can be found in the BIKE STOCK section of the website. Standout Japanese, European, and American model motorcycles, selected from the dealer stock inventory, will also be displayed in this section of the website. The motorcycles in this section of the website will all have a fixed price.

BDS is the largest “members only” motorcycle auction in Japan. It is a private, wholesale auction, so only auction members (and FVEJ clients!) can bid on motorcycles in this auction. BDS bike auctions are held all over Japan, but the largest auction is held in Tokyo every Wednesday (BDS Kanto). There are approximately 4,000 bikes available to view and purchase every Wednesday through the BDS Kanto auction. The prices at the private motorcycle auctions tend to be cheaper than public auctions (Yahoo Japan etc). The bikes that are available at the Wednesday BDS bike auction are usually in good, clean, close to stock condition.

The bikes available at the Friday “BDS Kanto” bike auction (in Tokyo) are mostly restore base bikes, and tend to be older bikes, in need of TLC. Some of the bikes are in running condition, some of them are not, most bikes in the Friday BDS bike auction will require some work. Because of this, it is often possible to find base bikes, at very good prices, in this auction, so it is definitely worth checking out all the bikes available on Friday at BDS Kanto. There are approximately 500 bikes available in this auction held every Friday in Tokyo.

For bikes bought from the Tokyo BDS bike auctions (BDS Kanto) on Wednesday and Friday, there are no land transport charges.

There are 1,000s of bikes available daily on Yahoo Japan auctions. There is a very wide range of models, in an even wider range of condition, spec, and pricing. In general, Yahoo auction bikes cost more than private auction bikes, and the bikes on Yahoo tend to be more modified than private auction bikes. The bikes available on Yahoo are located all over Japan, so be sure to ask about land transport costs for your target bikes prior to bidding.

Dealer Stock bikes are the bikes that are being sold from dealerships. It is possible to browse specific models via the GOO BIKE, and BIKE BROS links on the BIKE STOCK page. Dealers often stock rare, clean, and hard to find models, and the condition of the bikes is usually at retail level. Because of this, dealer bikes will generally cost more than both Private auction, and Yahoo auction bikes. Dealers will buy bikes from the same private motorcycle auctions, that FVEJ clients have direct access to, so pricing of the motorcycles on the dealer stock pages, (less the dealer`s margin), will give a good indication of what specific models can be bought for at the private BDS motorcycle auction. Dealer Stock bikes are located all over Japan, so may require land transport, depending on the location of the bike.  Bike dealers in Japan, also add “out the door” costs for bikes, so the advertised price of bikes, is very rarely the final “out the door” price. If you see any bikes of interest in the GOO BIKE or BIKE BROS stock, please contact us via the BIKE ORDER/ENQUIRY form on the BIKE STOCK page.

2. PAY DEPOSIT

To ensure that priority is given to genuine buyers, a deposit is required prior to providing further information and translations, or bidding on your target bikes. Deposits for bikes can be paid by paypal, or credit card (via paypal), or bank transfer. Deposits can be refunded at anytime, up until a purchase has been made. Deposits will be returned to the remitter only (not to third parties), less the cost of transfer fees. The deposit amount will depend on the estimated price of the target bike/s:
55,000 yen deposit will be required for bikes up to 125cc (with and estimated purchase price of under 300,000 yen).
• 80,000 yen deposit will be required for bikes over 125cc – up to 500cc (with and estimated purchase price of under 300,000 yen).
• 90,000 yen deposit will be required for bikes over 500cc.(with and estimated purchase price of under 300,000 yen).
50% deposit will be required for all bikes with an estimated purchase price of over 300,000 yen.

3. SELECT TARGET BIKES

After browsing all the motorcycles available in the FVEJ stock, BDS bike auctions, YAHOO auctions, and DEALER STOCK, you will surely have several target bikes to aim for. Please contact us with the details of your target bikes, via the BIKE ORDER FORM on the bike auction page. Please be sure to provide the details of the bikes you are interested in (Auction lot number for BDS auction bikes, or website URL for Yahoo or Dealer stock bikes), so that we can answer any questions you have, make enquiries about your targets, and place the bids on your bikes. For auction bikes (BDS, and YAHOO auctions), please be sure to send the completed BIKE ORDER FORM, at least 48 hours in advance of the finishing time for your target/s.

4. SUCCESSFUL PURCHASE NOTIFICATION

In the case of a successful auction bid, or dealer stock purchase, an invoice will be issued for the purchased motorcycle/s, in your required invoice format. Please be sure to inform the FVEJ staff in advance if you have any special requests in regards to the invoice format, or about the method of shipping for bikes (single bike shipment, multiple bike shipment or containerizing).  It is possible to send engines, factory parts, and tuning parts at the same time as your bikes for no extra shipping fees, saving alot of money on shipping costs for parts. So if you are interested in purchasing any bike parts, please check the BIKE PARTS section of the website. If you cant find the exact parts you are interested in, please let our staff know which parts you require via the PARTS ORDER FORM in the BIKE PARTS section of the website.

For successful BDS bike auction purchases on Wednesday, and for FVEJ stock bike purchases, there are no extra inland transport costs. There may be extra land transport costs required for bikes purchased through Yahoo auctions, or from dealer stock,  depending on the location of the bike. Bikes purchased from around the Tokyo area will cost approx 10,000 yen to get to port, for bikes purchased in cities outside of Tokyo, the FVEJ staff will inform you of transport costs before buying the bike/s.

Storage for all bikes is free for 30 days from the purchase date. Storage fees for bikes after the first 30 days from the purchase date, are charged at 200 yen per day, per bike.

Unless otherwise agreed, all bikes are shipped on the first available vessel when possible, (usually within 14-21 days of purchase), dependent on inland transport time, import requirements for your country, and vessel schedules.

There are several methods of shipping for motorcycles, and FVEJ can arrange shipping for one bike, or one hundred bikes to any destination in the world. If you are interested in buying bikes, then we will get the bikes to you for the lowest possible cost, in the fastest possible time. Please contact the FVEJ staff to discuss the most suitable shipping method for your bike orders.

In the case of an unsuccessful auction bid, our staff will inform you of the result of the auction.
